Our Concept Owned by the same family as the successful Tamnak Lao restaurant in Vientiane. Tamnak Lao means "The Residence" because this restaurant is located in one of the original French-style homes built in Vientiane. As tourism increased in Luang Prabang during the period 1996 to 1998, many tourists requested a good, authentic Lao restaurant as they didn’t want to eat at the little food stalls dotted about town. So Tamnak Lao 2 was born in Luang Prabang.
